After trumpeting they have “No Resort Fee’s” for a couple of year Caesars Entertainment decided to join every other casino hotel on the Vegas strip, except one, by adding a resort fee in March.

Yesterday, Caesars Entertainment, which had been promoting itself for some time as the hotel group with “no resort fees,” notified online travel agencies that mandatory nightly surcharge will be applied on all bookings made for stays at its Nevada properties that begin on or after March 1.

The only casino hotel on the Vegas strip without a resort fee is Best Western at Casino Royale. If nothing else this puts all the casinos on the strip on a level playing field. I guess the economy is looking up. The Caesars properties will have a different resort fee based on how clean they are.

  • $25 – Caesars Palace
  • $20 – Paris Las Vegas and Planet Hollywood
  • $18 - Flamingo, Harrah’s and Rio
  • $10 – The Quad

The cancellation policies are great at the Caesars properties (you can usually cancel with a two day advance notice without  being charged) are pretty good so I’d be remiss if I didn’t remind you to take advantage the the semi-annual sale happening now and you may be able to avoid the resort fee added to your reservation. Check the reservation cancellation policy when making reservations just to be safe. Leave a comment if the policy has changed this year, I haven’t stayed at a Caesars property yet.
