Hippies Hate Water Not Atlantic City

Rumors are swirling that Atlantic City’s Bader Field is going to host a rock festival this summer.  Some grouping of bands ranging from Phish to Dave Mathews Band to Pearl Jam are being rumored for the 3 day festival in Atlantic City.

Langford broke some news at the event, saying that a big-time promoter is working to put on a three-day music festival at Bader Field in June. One source says the three days of music would feature some of the best bands in the “jam band” genre.

Further rumoring has these bands playing more than one music festival in the states.

Over the last week or so, we’ve been hearing a slew of new rumors about potential new festivals in 2011. Some involve Phish, some Dave Matthews Band, some include both bands, while others sound like they’ll be multi-band events in the traditional festival style (e.g. Bonnaroo, Coachella, etc…).

This would be pretty cool for the Atlantic City market.  I don’t imagine much spending in the casinos, but every little bit helps.  A festival with these kind of bands would bring people from hours away.  While the economy, in general, seems to be slowly warming up Coachella recently sold out in just a couple of days.  I’ll keep my eyes peeled on this.

What about Robert Plant and his Band of Joy! Just saw them and they ROCK! Would be amazing to have him there.

I’d imagine that’s possible. Besides money, why not?!
