(Trump Marina’s Don) Browne noted that the $1 tables are averaging about an $1,100 win per day for the casino, compared to about $950 for higher-stakes blackjack games at Trump Marina. On weekends, the average daily win on the $1 tables jumps to about $1,500.
Earlier this year I saw the money behind the reason for so many $25 limit tables in casinos. I guess for Trump this is a good thing, but the odds are not with the player. Because of the .25 extra I would tend to stay away from this kind of game. Even if I could get drunk on crappy beer and well drinks.

I’m with you. It’s a 25% vig on a buck bet.You bet $1.25 to win $1 !! But, not suprised they make money.Same deal with penny slots- 20% hold or so but people love to play and many have limited budgets. Many people love this deal- can play for hours and not lose too much. It’s not for me,but it’s entertainment after all and gives folks who can’t afford the higher limits a chance to have fun too.

Good point regarding the low limits opening the game up for more people. I get why some would play even though it’s not the best bang for the buck. Ultimately the wallet is what controls what people play.

I agree it is nice for some people to be able to enjoy the tables and penny slots and play for hours. I enjoy the penny slots and many times I win big. Hope you win big too.
$1 blackjack is one of the biggest gimmicks. Patrons think they are getting a great deal but it is actually worse than playing “Big Six”!
This is because on a $1 bet the player instantly loses .25 per hand and with the house advantage at .05% that creates a 30 percent edge for the house on any $1 hand! 30 percent hold/advantage is horrendous- big six hold is 10 percent so you would be better off playing bix six!
And the drop per table is WRONG up there. During the week the table drop is $8,500 on a $10 table as compared to $1,500 for a $1 table- but notably the 30% hold of that is what the company looks at- screw the dealer as NOBODY TIPS at the $1 table- so we go to starve as we deal to fleas who have no clue what they are up against. Bring in some $1 blackjack slots and let them go there to play.
And also…the MAXIMUM BET at those $1 tables is $10, bets must be in $5 increments if they exceed $5 and even with a $5 bet you must pay the .25 fee per hand. Players are not rated on the .25 per hand.
AC Dealer, thanks for the info. I think any vaguely smart gambler knows this isn’t a good deal for anyone except the casino. I appreciate your addition here. Stuff I didn’t know and great info!
