I saw a promo for the new HBO show Boardwalk Empire and was curious about it since it was based in Atlantic City. From what I can gather the show is based on a book Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times and Corruption of Atlantic Cityby author Nelson Jonson. The show is based in the 20′s, so it’s obviously before gambling. The focus seems to be more on the shady politics of New Jersey than anything else.
There is some good info on the wiki. I’m not much for this kind of show, but it’s Atlantic City (even if it’s not recorded there).
