Fight Night: Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto

I’m one of few people I know that are fans of boxing.  I was a fan of boxing back in the day when I remember watching Hagler, Hearns, Arguello, Pazienza and more.  I got bored with boxing in the Tyson and Lennox Lewis era.  A few years ago I started to get into boxing again and Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto are a couple of reasons for that.

Manny’s charisma, speed and brutal style won me over.  Miguel Cotto’s heavy hands, prodding style and body shots make me take notice of him.  My first memory of Miguel Cotto was watching him KO somebody with a body shot a few years ago.  That’s not something seen with many fighters.

Unlike the Mayweather fight in July, I think this will be a fantastic fight with a lot of action.  I don’t have a strong feeling either way on who will win the fight, but I my bet would be on Miguel Cotto TKO in the 9th round.  Manny is almost a 4-1 favorite, but I’m not sure this fight is so cut and dry.  There seems to have been more drama in Manny’s life for the past two months than ever before.  While some of it may have been positive some hasn’t been.  Cotto seems focused on the fight.  If I’m offered odds in a toss up bet I will take the odds most times.

I’ll be tweeting between rounds tonight if you’d like to keep up.  I can’t wait for the action tonight!
